CITY OF WAUKEE: Fire Department Offering (Distant) Visits

Firefighters(1000)

City of Waukee issued the following announcement on Mar. 23.

The members of the Waukee Fire Department have had to cancel most community outreach efforts such as education events and station tours amid the COVID-19 outbreak. But, that doesn’t mean they can’t help WAUKEE RESIDENTS celebrate fun occasions. For any kiddos stuck celebrating their birthdays or other special occasions at home, the firefighters will visit*... from a safe distance. The firefighters on duty will drive by in a mini parade of sorts. Call 515-978-7998, or send a message via the Waukee Fire Department’s Facebook page to arrange the visit. The duty crew will contact you when they are on the way.

*Visits planned on a first-come, first-served basis. The department may get called off to an incident and will let participants know if they are delayed.
