Dallas County Foundation awards grants to 32 nonprofit groups

More than 30 nonprofit organizations will receive grant awards totaling $95,513 from the Dallas County Foundation to fund a number of community-based improvement projects, officials announced March 20.

The grant funds, which will be awarded this year, will provide needed assistance on a dozens of Dallas County projects, such as the purchase playground equipment, fund improvements for several libraries, providing needed rehabilitation or emergency equipment to some entities, and help pay for needed renovations to community buildings and sidewalks.

Some key organizations selected for grant awards include:

  • City of Perry: $20,000 for McCreary Community Building Renovation
  • Friends of the Minburn Library: $8,000 toward the renovation
  • Dallas County Habitat for Humanity: $5,000 for new home construction
  • Raccoon River Pet Rescue: $4,000 for surgical suite and laundry equipment upgrades
Since 2005, the Dallas County Foundation has helped improve the quality of life, awarding more than $1.3 million in grants that have funded more than 250 community improvement projects.
