Restaurants around the Dallas County area are finding new ways to do business and reopen to the public during COVID-19 recovery.
Mickey's Irish Pub in Waukee has opened its dining room for customers, but tables are six feet apart and seating is only set up for 50% capacity. There are also sanitization stations for staff and customers to use and they have transitioned to using mostly disposable containers.
Owner Amy Walsh told Dallas County News that she doesn't expect to see normal capacity because of some people's wariness. The pub will continue to offer carryout options and delivery through "My Town to Go."
Brickyard Burgers and Brews in Adel has added additions to their patio area and upgraded some features in their kitchen.
The Handlebar in Dallas Center has chosen to open only its outdoor seating area at 50% capacity. Tables will be placed six feet apart and parties will be limited to six people. They will also use disposable containers. The restaurant will continue to offer curbside takeout.
Ambro's Roadhouse in De Soto has prepared its outdoor seating area for customers as well. They will continue to offer curbside pickup, giving diners the option to take their order curbside to go or eat on the patio.
The Central Standard team in Waukee is learning to adjust to the new normal. Dining areas have been rearranged to promote social distancing. Staff are required to wear personal protective equipment and disposable items will be offered to guests.
