Incumbent Kenan Judge beat challenger Dave Lorenzen for the House District 44 seat. He thanked his family and supporters on Facebook.

“I am honored to be re-elected as your State Representative in the Iowa House. Thank you to my family and volunteers for their unwavering support. I enjoyed speaking to so many constituents over the last several months. You make me better by your views and feedback. My focus will continue to be on those I serve,” he wrote on his page.

Republican Lorenzen conceded,  indirectly highlighting this was not going to be the end of his political career.

“For the past 10 months, we have been working towards this evening. We started knocking doors in February and meeting voters in District 44. When COVID struck, we paused that part of the campaign. In June, we were back on the doors and really enjoyed and valued the conversations we were able to have. There were some pretty warm days and some long Saturdays, but it was well worth it. A big thanks to all who answered the door and had a brief conversation. Also, thanks to everyone who allowed us to post a campaign sign in your property, to the fantastic support and encouragement from the Dallas County Central Committee and to the volunteers and donors who believed in me, our campaign and the platform we support. I hope I will have the opportunity to serve as your State Representative.” he wrote on his Facebook page.
