City of Waukee's Response
To avoid confusion and any conflicting requirements, the face covering proclamation previously issued by Waukee Mayor Courtney Clarke on Nov. 5, 2020 will change from a requirement to a strong recommendation while Gov. Reynolds’ proclamation is in effect. If the Governor’s proclamation does expire on Dec. 10 without any extension, it is Mayor Clarke’s intent to reinstitute the face covering requirement proclamation in Waukee on Dec. 11 through Dec. 31, 2020, unless modified or amended. Read the current proclamation which encourages the wearing of face coverings in public places in Waukee and compliance with Gov. Reynolds’ Nov. 16, 2020 Public Health Disaster proclamation.
Businesses and residents should refer to the Office of the Governor at (515) 281-5211 for any questions related to COVID-19 mitigation efforts such as mask requirements, closures and more. Businesses may remove City signs related to the previous face covering requirement proclamation issued by Mayor Clarke, but are encouraged to keep them for possible later use.
Thank you to everyone in the Waukee community for helping to keep each other safe and healthy.
