City of Waukee issued the following announcement on Dec 14.
As the holidays bring an influx of trash and materials to be recycled, ASI is offering a few tips to ensure items are picked up and that recycling costs remain low.
- Make sure plastic and Styrofoam packing materials are removed from cardboard boxes before putting them in the recycling bin.
- Shiny wrapping paper, gift bags and tissue paper go in the trash.
- Make sure all loose garbage items are bagged to prevent items from blowing out of containers, especially on windy days.
