VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL WEST DES MOINES: Valley Girls’ Golf Captures Class 4A State Title

Valley High School West Des Moines issued the following announcement on June 02.

The Valley High School varsity girls’ golf team won the Class 4A Iowa high school state girls’ golf tournament on Wednesday, June 2, at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.

The Tigers, led by head coach Kelli Moore and assistant coach Kari Lombardi, finished the two-day tournament with a record score of 604. The previous record was 631.

Here’s how the full 4A team standings shaped out:

  1. Valley, 604
  2. Pleasant Valley, 666
  3. Bettendorf, 682
  4. Cedar Falls, 688
  5. Marshalltown, 689
  6. Western Dubuque, 693
  7. Southeast Polk, 700
  8. Waukee, 707
  9. Linn-Mar, 711
  10. Dallas Center-Grimes, 764
Valley had two players place inside the top 10. Paige Hoffman finished in fourth, shooting 143 (+1). Hallie Yates tied for seventh after shooting 148 (+6).
