May 2021: Des Moines experienced a 7.6% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2021 in Des Moines rose by $11,650 while total sales increased by 8.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2021, there were 398 homes sold, with a median sale price of $164,400 - a 7.6% increase over the $152,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 366 homes sold in Des Moines in May 2020.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,488, approximately 1.5% of the median home sale price for May 2021.
