17 Units of Blood Collected at City Blood Drive

City of Waukee issued the following announcement on August 16.

On Aug. 12, 2021, the City of Waukee hosted a blood drive in partnership with LifeServe Blood Center. Donors consisted mostly of City staff and elected officials, but community members also made an impact.

There were 17 eligible donors who participated and donated 17 units of blood. This included two first-time blood donors. Throughout the day, enough blood was collected to save or sustain 39 lives!
