2020 Census Results

Cenus

City of Adel issued the following announcement on August 18.

The 2020 Census information released on August 12 shows that the City of Adel’s population grew approximately 67.1% from 2010 (i.e., 3,682 to 6,153).

This growth rate is faster than all other communities in the greater Des Moines metro except for Waukee, Grimes, and Bondurant.

Considering communities across Iowa, this rate of population change represents the fifth largest and fastest percentage increase for this census period.

The City of Adel recently completed its new comprehensive plan, Envision Adel 2040, which attempts to prepare our community for smart growth going forward. We are looking forward to the potential opportunities for our residents over the next ten years.

Please click here for more details about Envision Adel 2040.

Thank you to the local Complete Count Committee for communicating the importance of responding to the census.
