In their last game, the Hawkeyes beat Kent State 30-7 Saturday afternoon.

Iowa’s win Sept. 18 made it hold steady in the AP poll released Sept. 19. Iowa ranks as No. 5.

Tyler Goodson, Iowa’s main running back, was highlighted in the AP for his Hawkeye football career. The Kent State game showed him his progress.

“Most definitely, especially because I know all of the work I put in during the offseason,” he said, according to AP. “It’s just a blessing. I’m thrilled to see it come into play on Saturdays. It means a lot to me.”

Iowa jumped from 10th to 5th on the third week’s voting, done by 62 sports writers and broadcasters around the United States.

After the win Sept. 18, Iowa went up to No. 6 in the Coaches Poll.

Iowa currently holds a 3-0 record and 1298 points, according to the AP poll rankings.

Iowa also moved up to No. 6 in the new FWA Super 16 rankings as well as the updated Sagarin ratings, Go Iowa Awesome reported. They also went up to No. 4 in the new Massey rating index.

The Hawkeyes go up against Colorado State on Sept. 25 at Kinnick Stadium.
