The Iowa Hawkeyes football team recently fell to Wisconsin, but hopes to turn things around in their upcoming game against Northwestern.

Hawk Central reported that history repeated itself in Iowa's recent game against Wisconsin with the Hawkeyes being defeated yet again and the Iowa-Wisconsin rivalry has remained mostly unchanged in the past four years as the Hawkeyes suffered another bad performance under offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz's watch where Iowa’s offense struggled in the match.

"Yeah, it’s simple. When things don’t go well, you can surrender, just feel sorry for yourself and all those types of things, or you can try to use it as motivation and focus on improvement," Kirk Ferentz said at a weekly press conference. "That’s really what the game is all about certainly."

Their recent loss not withstanding, the Hawkeyes hope to get back on the winning track in Saturday's matchup against Northwestern. Iowa is a 13 point favorite heading into the game, according to Sports Illustrated.

"It’s just about trying to match up this week against Northwestern, face the challenges that they’re going to present for us and see if we can get a plan to stop them, and then if we can get some takeaways, that would really help us," Ferentz said. "They come from being aggressive and being sound, and that’s where it all starts."

Northwestern's current record is 3-5 while Iowa's is 6-2.
