City of Des Moines recently issued the following announcement.
The last SCRUB Event of 2021 is here.
From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, this SCRUB event will provide residents one final opportunity to get rid of large, oversized items and bulk yard waste for free before the end of the year.
"It's been a busy SCRUB season," Public Works Director Jonathan Gano said. "We see hundreds of cars at each site, each SCRUB weekend because Des Moines residents know this is a great opportunity to get rid of things completely free. This is a great opportunity to finish off some of those projects you've been meaning to get to before the year's end, and we'll be there next spring with more SCRUB events for the residents of Des Moines."
Bulk items may be disposed of at the MWA Transfer Station (4198 Delaware Ave.) and bulk yard waste can be dropped off at the MWA Compost Center (1601 Harriet St.).
Visit DSM.city/SCRUB for more guidelines on what items are accepted at both SCRUB sites.
