With a 88-61 victory, Lisa Bluder, head coach of Iowa women's basketball, hit the 800-win mark at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
"It's special being on your home court, obviously, but being able to share that with your family and the women on this team is just so much fun. I enjoy them so much and I'm very thankful that I get to be around them every day," Bluder said, according to Hawkeye Sports.
Bluder, reached her 800th win against Michigan State on Dec. 5.
“It’s just one more game,” Bluder said. “It’s not like that big of a deal. But I think people make a big deal about the century ones, but it really gives you a time to kind of reflect a little bit. And you always reflect on the women you’ve been able to coach and you’ve been around. And you reflect on the staff that you have.
Bluder is the fifth head coach and the 14th overall Division I women's head coach to achieve this accomplishment.
The win launched Bluder into the elite class of legendary coaches officially, SB Nation reported. The Iowa Hawkeyes won the game 88-61.
