City of Waukee recently issued the following announcement.
AmeriGas will be conducting a controlled burn at the U-Haul facility located at 1100 E. Hickman Road beginning Tuesday, Dec. 21. Crews will be burning off the flammable vapor that remains in a liquified petroleum tank on the property. Residents can expect to see a flame about two or three feet in height coming from a pole in the ground.
The flame will be a safe distance from public areas and should be no cause for concern. The controlled burn will continue through the week during daytime hours until the tank has emptied.
