West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
The Board of Directors of the West Bancorporation Foundation, the charitable branch of West Bank, awarded $71,500 in grants to 18 community organizations for the 2021 fourth quarter. 6 of the 18 organizations that received grants were food pantries. The emphasis to donate to food pantries during the holidays demonstrates our commitment to the communities we serve in these difficult times. West Bancorporation grants are awarded to local community organizations in the areas of Human Services, Arts and Culture, and Education.
“We are proud to support such amazing organizations that are continually bettering our community,” said Jill Hansen, Senior Vice President, West Bank and Executive Director of the West Bancorporation Foundation. “West Bank believes in seeking out ways to make a difference and improve the communities we serve. During the holidays it is even more important that we find ways to meet the needs of vulnerable members of those communities.”
In the 2021 giving year, the Foundation has given $221,852 in philanthropic contributions.
