Businessolver has helped several communities by providing more than $330,000 to charitable groups across the country in 2021, including a significant amount to Iowa residents, according to a release from the group.
The funds were donated to 100 charity groups in 15 communities through the Businessolver Foundation.
"Given the events of the last two years, we felt compelled to change our initiatives to better match our company mission and philanthropic aspirations," Jon Shanahan, CEO and president of Businessolver, said in the release.
The Foundation's primary charitable efforts in 2021 concentrated on mental health, STEM and career education, as well as diversity, equality and inclusion.
"The Foundation's new giving pillars allow us to make a stronger, more focused impact to the communities in which we live and serve," Shanahan said.
This year, the Businessolver Foundation collaborated with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to create a three-part video series examining mental health in Black communities, as well as with the American Heart Association to promote STEM Goes Red initiatives in Des Moines and Denver.
Additionally, the Foundation supported LGBTQ causes through Capital City Pride and One Iowa, as well as programs for Special Olympics athletes.
