City Staffing Up for Summertime

City of Waukee recently issued the following announcement.

In 2022, the City of Waukee will hire more seasonal staff members than ever before. The City anticipates welcoming more than 120 seasonal employees this spring/summer due to the City’s population growth, an increase in public projects, the popularity of Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course and the June opening of the new 66-acre Triumph Park. 

The following opportunities are now open to applicants:

Parks & Recreation

  • Parks Laborers
  • Recreation Program Assistants I and II
  • Field Crew and Field Crew Lead - Triumph Park
  • Concession Attendants and Concession Attendant Lead – Triumph Park
  • Site Supervisor – Triumph Park
  • Parks & Recreation Intern
Public Works

  • Gas Laborers
  • Streets Laborers
  • Water/Wastewater Laborers
  • Engineering Intern
  • Stormwater Intern
  • Water/Wastewater Intern
Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course

  • Clubhouse Assistants 
  • Golf Course Attendants 
  • Golf Course Grounds Keeper
  • Golf Course Maintenance Laborers
  • Sugar Creek Golf Course Intern
Marketing & Communications

  • Marketing & Graphic Design Intern
The Waukee Public Library’s Summer Reading Program Assistant positions will open to applicants in February.

Seasonal employees can expect to work anywhere from 10 to 40+ hours weekly, based on the position. Wages are competitive. Most positions are open to applicants ages 18 and older. Field Crew, Lead Concession Attendant, Recreation Program Assistant II and Golf Course Attendant positions are open to those ages 16 and older. Applicants ages 14 and older can apply to be Concession Attendants.
