City of Waukee recently issued the following announcement.
Nearly a foot of snow fell in Waukee Jan. 14-15, 2022. Public Works and Parks & Rec crews spent 435 staff hours clearing Waukee's 275+ lane miles of paved roads, 33+ lane miles of gravel roads, trails and other City facilities. Due to the length of the winter storm and ongoing accumulation, most City streets had to be plowed three or four times. Snow is still being transported out of cul de sacs and other areas.
A total of 192 tons of salt, 3,570 gallons of brine and 789 gallons of Beet 55 mixture were used to treat roads and ensure surfaces were passable and safe. The approximate cost of cleaning up the Jan. 14-15 storm, with labor and materials included, was $54,000.
The City of Waukee thanks its tireless snow fighters for all of their hard work!
