Mayor Courtney Clarke has issued a proclamation recognizing May 2022 as Building Safety Month.
Sponsored by the International Code Council, it is intended to bring awareness to residents of the incredibly vital role played by building safety officials in Waukee and across the country to ensure homes, buildings and infrastructure are constructed safely and to code.
This year’s theme is “Safety for All: Building Codes in Action,” with each week highlighting a specific area of building safety, including Planning for a Safe and Sustainable Tomorrow, Exploring Careers in Building Safety, Understanding Disaster Mitigation, and Creating a Safe and Abundant Water Supply.
Thanks to all of Waukee’s code and building officials for the important work they do all year to keep Waukee’s homes and businesses safe and strong.
