The City of West Des Moines will celebrate National Public Works Week on Thursday, May 19, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Farmers Market in Valley Junction. All the action takes place in the 300 block of 5th Street.
West Des Moines Public Services staff will be on hand to answer questions and help children of all ages explore the big equipment employees use every day to repair streets, plow snow, and maintain sewers. Games, balloons, giveaways, face painting and a variety of free activities will be available for everyone to enjoy!
National Public Works Week is a celebration of the tens of thousands of employees in North America who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services that make our cities better, safer places to live, work, and play.
