As part of the the City of Waukee's Operations and Maintenance Plan, technicians conduct natural gas leak detection surveying in a specific area of the community each year. This year, the City has contracted with Utility Safety & Design to perform this survey work in the neighborhoods shown in red on this map.
If you live in this area, you may notice technicians walking over the top of buried gas mains and services from June 20 through June 30. The purpose of the survey is to inspect these portions of the gas system in accordance with federal, state and customer guidelines and to ensure compliance, system operation and public safety.
