Census Bureau: 5.2% of people in Dallas County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 96,604 citizens living in Dallas County in 2021, 94.8% said they were only one race, while 5.2% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Dallas County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 86.7% or 83,711 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 4.5% and totaled 4,386 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Dallas County is 1.3% higher than the state average, which stands at 3.9%.
