DOWNERS GROVE, ILL. – The Foundation for the Restoration of America (FFROA) awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Des Moines Area Community College student Madison Wenell following her completion of the Constitutional Study Program.

Wenell is from Dallas Center, Iowa and is currently pursuing a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. After taking the free courses in the Constitutional Study Program provided through Hillsdale College, she reflected on what she learned from the program.

“One of the biggest takeaways that I have from this program is how important the Constitution is for not only our country, but also for our God-given rights to life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness,” she said.

“Not safeguarding the freedoms in the Constitution will ensure the government will control all aspects of our lives, and we will not have basic human rights. For the safety of our future,” she continued, “it is vitally important that we return the federal government back to how the Founders intended.”

Wenell also shared that she’s excited to get involved in the electoral process and pass down this knowledge to her future children.

The Foundation’s Executive Director Christine Altenberger said that students like Wenell are the future of this country, which is why the stakes are so high to educate them on the nation’s founding ideals.

“Madison is a bright young lady,” Christine said. “With more young Americans like her, we can feel confident in the future of our country. Now, it’s just our job to make sure we successfully pass along the truth of our nation’s history to their generation.”
