On Sunday, March 2, former Waukee High School standout Luke Gainer’s current college team, the Omaha Mavericks, lost 5-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Kansas Jayhawks.

The game took place at Hoglund Ballpark. This was their fourth matchup against the Jayhawks this season.

The Mavericks’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 7 at 3 p.m. at Tal Anderson Field against SIUE Cougars.
